SAD supports demands for home adviser's resignation: Hasnat

The Students Against Discrimination (SAD) supports demands for Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury's resignation, its Convener Hasnat Abdullah said today (24 February).
"We stand in solidarity with the demonstration that took place at Dhaka University last night demanding the resignation of the home affairs adviser. Because the overall law and order situation has deteriorated," he said while speaking at a milad and farewell ceremony of Nagaish Faizia Razzakia Islamia Dakhil Madrasa in Brahmanpara upazila of Cumilla this afternoon.
Hasnat also said, "When talented people keep dropping out from positions of power, the incompetent ones end up ruling the society. Notice that incompetent and influential people are made presidents of mosque committees."
Addressing the students, he said, "You have to study. You have to increase your knowledge. If you have a wealth of information, then you can face anything."
Rafiqul Islam Faizi was the chief guest at the programme presided over by Islamic scholar Mostaq Faizi.
