Saiful Islam Sagar, a 25-year-old volunteer from Lakshmipur's Ramganj drowned while trying to join a volunteer group to rescue people in flood-affected Feni. 

"As the flood situation worsened, Sagar headed to Feni to work with a volunteer group," Ramganj's Korpara Union Parishad Member Yunus Hossain told The Business Standard. 

"He drowned as he could not swim in the ocean. It was also reported that at the time, an electrical line was exposed to the nearby water. They were going to Chattogram to Feni along the coastline," he added.

They had almost reached Feni when Sagar fell off the trawler.

Family sources said Sagar came from Chattogram to Feni. He died trying to help people. 

"His body is currently in Feni, and we might need some time to retrieve it," a family member said.
