Visitors prohibited from entering Secretariat tomorrow

Amid a ban on public gatherings at the Secretariat and surrounding areas, the government has prohibited entrance of visitors at the Secretariat tomorrow (27 May).
"Due to unavoidable reasons, the Bangladesh Secretariat will be closed to all visitors on Tuesday, 27 May 2025," the home ministry said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issued a public notice today stating that a ban is in force prohibiting all forms of mass gatherings and processions in the areas adjacent to the Bangladesh Secretariat and the chief adviser's official residence, State Guest House Jamuna.
The ban was issued on 10 May.
"All concerned are requested to comply with the said instructions in the interest of maintaining law and order," the DMP said in the notice.
Earlier in the day, Secretariat employees continued their protest against the public service ordinance, vowing to resist until the law, which allows easier dismissal of employees for misconduct, is repealed.
Protesters said fresh demonstrations will be held inside the Secretariat tomorrow, and called upon government employees across the country to join the movement.
