PM praises Coast Guard's professionalism, dedication to national service
Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said Tarique Rahman commended the force for its role in maintaining peace and security, particularly in coastal and riverine areas.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today (3 March) praised the patriotism and professionalism of the Bangladesh Coast Guard and their tireless efforts in serving the nation.
He made the remarks when Director General of the Coast Guard Rear Admiral Md Ziaul Haque paid a courtesy call on him at the Prime Minister's Office at the Cabinet Division of the Bangladesh Secretariat, according to his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
Rumon said the prime minister commended the force for its role in maintaining peace and security, particularly in coastal and riverine areas.
During the meeting, Tarique Rahman also directed the Coast Guard to continue its public service and disaster response activities to safeguard public interests.
He urged the force to maintain the highest level of preparedness to protect the country's sovereignty.
The director general briefed the prime minister on various development activities of the Coast Guard.
The prime minister assured that the ongoing development initiatives of the force would continue in the future.
