Veteran lawyer and former attorney general Barrister Rafique-ul Huq has passed away of old- age complications.
He breathed his last today around 8:30 am while undergoing treatment at Ad-Din Hospital in the capitals Moghbazar area. He was 85.
Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajol, secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
The janaza of the deceased will be held at 2 pm today at the premises of SCBA.

Rafique-ul Huq started his career as a lawyer in Calcutta in 1960. In 1990, he served as the Attorney General of Bangladesh.
Barrister Rafique-ul Haq played an important role as a lawyer during the caretaker government as he lent legal support to Bangladesh Awami League President Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh National Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia when they were charged with corruption cases.
