'Unjust, inhumane, tragic': Jamaat condemns communal violence in India's Nagpur
Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir also expressed deep concern, outrage, and strong condemnation over the recent brutal attacks on Muslims in India

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has strongly condemned the recent Hindu-Muslim riots in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India over demands to remove the tomb of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
In a statement issued today (19 March), party's Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar denounced the violence and expressed deep concern over the imposition of curfews in Nagpur and nearby areas following communal clashes.
He described the events as "unjust, inhumane, and tragic."
The Jamaat leader blamed the communal unrest on Hindu nationalist groups such as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, alleging that they incite violence with the support of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"The BJP is responsible for repeated communal riots across India and accused it of violating human rights and religious freedoms as outlined by the United Nations."
He further alleged that BJP is engaged in a "deep conspiracy" to eliminate India's Muslim population, which exceeds 20 crore.
Parwar urged the international community, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and global human rights organisations, to take immediate and effective measures to stop what he termed as "Muslim persecution" in India.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir also expressed deep concern, outrage, and strong condemnation over the recent brutal attacks on Muslims in India.
In a statement today, party's Central President Jahidul Islam and Secretary General Nurul Islam Saddam denounced the violence and called for international intervention.
Citing international media reports, they mentioned that a group of Hindu extremists gathered outside a mosque, assaulted worshippers as they exited, and chanted "Jai Shri Ram."
The attackers allegedly carried liquor bottles, which they used to harass Muslims. Additionally, incidents of forcibly applying Holi colours on fasting Muslims, physical assaults for resisting, and attacks on women and children have also been reported.
Furthermore, on 18 March, Bajrang Dal carried out violent attacks on Muslims in Nagpur, demanding the removal of the tomb of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
Chhatra Shibir called upon the Indian government to ensure religious freedom for Muslims and immediately halt all forms of oppression against minorities.
They also urged the global community to take effective steps to protect India's Muslim population and uphold religious rights.
