Two more explosives found at Pallabi Police Station

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Bomb Disposal Unit has found two more unexploded explosives from Pallabi Police Station.

Additional Commissioner of DMP Krishna Pada Roy said, "A little while ago we found two more explosives and were able to successfully deactivate them. These explosives were in the box that resembled a weight machine."

"The terrorists from whom we found these explosives had a plan to commit a crime. We initially knew that it could be a murder, property-related crime or a robbery," he added.

"We will be able to say in a little while how powerful the explosives were," the police official said.

"No involvement of religious militant groups has been found so far in the incident. The perpetrators are members of a local criminal group," he added.

The names of the three arrested in connection to the explosives are Rafiqul Islam, Shahidul and Musharraf. They are members of a local gang.

When asked about security preparations for the month of August and Eid-al-Adha, he answered, "We have taken adequate measures on the occasion of Eid. The incident has nothing to do with the warning issued by the police headquarters. It is not part of any Red Alert."
