Twin sisters drown in Chattogram pond
Five-year-old twin sisters drowned in a pond near their residence in the Baroawliya area under the Sonaichhari union of Sitakunda upazila in Chattogram.
The tragic event unfolded around 4pm on Friday, Sonaichhari Union Parishad Member Ohidul Alam Chowdhury said today.
The victims, identified as Sinthia and Sneha, were the daughters of Mohammad Ershad from Baroawliya.

Ohidul Alam said the twin sisters had gone out to play around 2:30pm. Concerned when their mother couldn't locate them in the front yard an hour later, she began searching. They were discovered floating in the pond near their house at around 4pm.
Family members promptly rescued them and rushed the sisters to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. Unfortunately, the on-duty doctors declared them dead upon arrival, as reported by the Union Parishad member.
