Train services on Bangladesh-India route to be closed for maximum 9 days from tomorrow
Number of intercity trains will be reduced during the three days of Eid holidays

The Bangladesh-India Maitree Express, Bandhan Express and Mitali Express trains will be closed for a maximum of nine days from today on the occasion of Eid.
The three inter-country trains will suspend operations in order to prevent schedule disruption during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha, said the Bangladesh Railway.
The Maitree Express will remain suspended from 14 June to 22 June, the Bandhan Express from 14 June to 20 June and Mitali Express from 12 June till 21 June.
In addition, all goods trains except container, fuel oil and cattle carrying trains, will remain suspended from today until 6pm on the second day of Eid.
Also, the number of intercity trains will be reduced during the three days of the Eid holidays [day before, the day of Eid and the day after].
The Bangladesh Railway is operating 20 special trains to facilitate holidaymakers' travel during Eid-ul-Adha. Also, two special trains have been arranged to transport sacrificial cattle.
Visiting the Kamalapur Railway Station on Thursday (13 June), Railway Minister Md Zillul Hakim said all preparations have been made from the Railway to ensure safe travel during Eid.
On Wednesday, all the homebound passengers reached their destination safely, and on Thursday most of the trains departed from Dhaka on time, he said.
"We are making every effort to ensure passengers reach their destinations safely for Eid-ul-Adha celebrations," he added.
The minister further said special trains have been launched to transport cattle as well as mangoes.
