Tk3.24 crore toll collected from Padma Bridge in 24 hours
The official added that the Mawa point of the Padma Bridge did not experience any significant traffic congestion due to the Eid vacation

Around Tk3.24 crore has been collected as tolls from Padma Bridge in Munshiganj's Louhajanj upazila over 24 hours during Eid-ul-Fitr travels.
The toll was collected from a total of 26,428 vehicles at the Mawa and Zajira points of the bridge between 12am on Tuesday (25 March) and 12am yesterday (26 March), confirmed Executive Engineer Abu Saeed of the bridge's site office today (27 March).
"In the last 24 hours, 14,992 vehicles crossed the Padma Bridge from the Mawa point, while 11,436 vehicles crossed from the Zajira point," Saeed said.
The official added that the Mawa point of the Padma Bridge did not experience any significant traffic congestion due to the Eid vacation.
As a result, vehicles going to the southern districts from the capital are crossing the bridge without any hassle, Saeed further said.
All the toll booths at the bridge's Mawa point have been kept operational to collect tolls quickly. Tolls are being collected at a total of seven booths so that vehicles can cross the bridge in a short time.
Like always, a separate lane has been created on the bridge and the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway for the movement of motorcycles.
The Highway Police have started working to ensure security during people's Eid journey.
Contacted, Officer-in-Charge of Hasara Highway Police Station Abdul Quader Zilani said, "Eight units of Highway Police are working on the highway at the northern side of the Padma Bridge to ensure security.
