Speed limit on Dhaka Elevated Expressway increased by 20 kmph
The new speed limit took effect last Thursday night (27 February), Bridges Division Secretary Mohammad Abdur Rauf confirmed to The Business Standard today (3 March)

Authorities have raised the speed limit on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway by 20 kilometres per hour (kmph), allowing vehicles to now travel at a maximum speed of 80kmph.
The new speed limit took effect last Thursday night (27 February), Bridges Division Secretary Mohammad Abdur Rauf confirmed to The Business Standard today (3 March).
"We observed that the previous speed limit of 60 kmph was too low. Vehicles were unable to maintain the limit smoothly, often leading to speed limit violation cases.
"Additionally, it was taking longer to pass the expressway, which was designed for faster travel. Therefore, we decided to increase the speed limit," said Rauf.
