PM Hasina to Inaugurate Agargaon-Motijheel metro rail section in Oct

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to inaugurate the Agargaon-Motijheel section of the Dhaka metro rail in late October this year, according to ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, secretary to the Road Transport and Highways Division.
"The inauguration will take place any day after 15 October, depending on the prime minister's schedule," he said while inaugurating a tree plantation event along the route alignment median of MRT Line 6 from Uttara to Agargaon on Wednesday.
A total of 5,747 main plants and 24,718 side plants are scheduled to be planted along the 9.5km road median.
MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), said the stations will be opened in phases following the inauguration of the route.
"The Farmgate, Motijheel, and Secretariat stations will be the first to open. Subsequently, the remaining stations will open in the following months. Initially, a limited number of trains will run, gradually transitioning to full operation from 8am to 8pm," he added.
Siddique further noted that they have achieved 10% progress on the Motijheel to Kamalapur section, with their target being to complete the work by 2025. However, they are hopeful of inaugurating the section ahead of schedule.
