Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will be deployed at Paturia-Daulatdia and Shimulia-Banglabazar ferry ghats from Sunday morning to curb the exodus of homebound people.
Thousands of people thronged the ferry ghats to return to their village homes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Meanwhile, the government suspended daytime ferry services to curb the spread of Covid-19.
