Three top criminals arrested with arms, ammunition in Dhaka’s Mirpur
RAB-4 Company Commander Squadron Leader Nazmul Islam disclosed the information at a press briefing held at the RAB-4 headquarters in Dhaka.
Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three listed top criminals along with two firearms and 11 rounds of live ammunition during a raid in the capital's Mirpur today (2 January).
The arrestees are Faizur Rahman Mukti alias Don Mukti, 55; Shakir Ahmed Suman alias Hockey Suman, 45; and Golam Mostafa Kamal Bappi alias Shooter Bappi, 45.

He said the arrests were made late Thursday night (1 January) during a raid conducted in the Gorar Chatbari embankment area under Shah Ali Police Station. Based on information provided by the arrestees, firearms were later recovered from an area adjacent to Lalmati High School under Pallabi Police Station.
The recovered weapons include one foreign-made pistol, one foreign-made revolver, one magazine and 11 rounds of live ammunition.
Nazmul said that during interrogation, the arrestees admitted to using the illegal firearms to intimidate residents and carry out extortion and various criminal and terrorist activities in Mirpur, Pallabi, Rupnagar and Shah Ali areas of Dhaka and surrounding localities.
Multiple cases, including murder, robbery, mugging, extortion, arms and narcotics offences, had been filed against them with different police stations, he added.
RAB said the arrestees have been handed over to the concerned police stations for legal action.
