Sufiur Rahman appointed as special assistant to CA Yunus
He will hold the rank and status of a state minister

Retired diplomat Mohammad Sufiur Rahman has been appointed as special assistant to the chief adviser of the interim government.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification regarding the appointment today (20 April).
According to the notification, Sufiur Rahman will hold the rank and status of a state minister. Under the Rules of Business, 1996, he has been delegated executive authority over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist the adviser.
While serving in this role, Sufiur will receive the salary, allowances, and all other facilities entitled to a state minister.
Sufiur Rahman held several high-profile ambassadorial roles throughout his diplomatic career. He served as the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Office at Geneva, as well as Ambassador to Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. He also served as High Commissioner to Australia and Sri Lanka.
