Students block Rajshahi-Dhaka highway demanding justice for Osman Hadi’s murder

Students from various educational institutions staged a sit-in on the Rajshahi-Dhaka highway today (28 December), demanding justice for Inqilab Mancha convener Osman Hadi's murder.
The protest began 2:45pm, with participants gathering at Rajshahi University's main gate and Talimari Mor. The demonstration caused significant inconvenience to city residents.
The protesting students called for the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of Hadi's killers.

They warned that if justice is not ensured soon, stricter protests will follow.
Students chanted slogans including "Abu Sayeed, Mugdo, the war is not over," (Abu Sayeed Mugdho, shesh hoyni juddho) "My brother is in the grave, why is the killer free," (amar bhai kobore, khuni keno baire) "No compromise, struggle struggle," "Delhi or Dhaka, Dhaka Dhaka," (Delhi na Dhaka? Dhaka, Dhaka) and "Who are you, who am I? Hadi Hadi" (tumi ke, ami ke? Hadi, Hadi).
Earlier, on 12 December, Hadi was critically injured after he was shot in the head in broad daylight in Dhaka's Paltan area.
He was later taken to a hospital in Singapore for advanced treatment, where he died on 18 December.
Hadi's funeral was held 20 December at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad, with hundreds of thousands of people in attendance.
Since his death, supporters of Inqilab Mancha have been holding protests across the country, demanding the swift arrest of those responsible and accountability for alleged negligence by law enforcement agencies.
