Strict action to be taken against anyone disrupting Ducsu polls: DMP chief
He calls for coordinated efforts among all government agencies to ensure a safe, smooth, and fair election

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali has warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) elections.
"We are ready to provide full cooperation for the Ducsu elections, following all instructions from the Election Commission. Any attempt to disrupt the process will be met with a firm response," the commissioner said at a coordination meeting on overall security and traffic management for the Ducsu elections-2025, held at the DMP Headquarters conference room today (1 September).
He called for coordinated efforts among all government agencies to ensure a safe, smooth, and fair election.

The meeting began with DMP Joint Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah presenting the overall security plan.
Dhaka University Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed; Ducsu Election Commission Chief Returning Officer Professor Dr Mohammad Jasim Uddin; associate returning officers; student representatives; officials from intelligence agencies; specialised police units; and representatives from government service organisations, including the fire service, attended the meeting.
Senior DMP officials present included additional police commissioners SN Md Nazrul Islam (Crime and Operations), Hasan Md Shawkat Ali (Logistics, Finance and Procurement), Md Masud Karim (CTTC), Md Shafiqul Islam (Intelligence), and Md Zillur Rahman (Traffic), along with joint and deputy police commissioners and other officers.
