State Minister for Water Resources Colonel (retd) Zaheed Farooque visited areas damaged by river erosion in Wazirpur upazila of Barishal district on Friday. 

After visiting the areas, the state minister also visited the ongoing work on the Satla-Bagdha project at Polder No 3 of Wazirpur upazila, according to a press release.

"Our ministry has a project worth Tk48 crore at Satla in Wazirpur. I came to know about the river bank erosion and dam damage while visiting this project. I have provided the necessary decision and the work to preserve the dam has already started," said the state minister to the reporters, it read.

During the visit, the state minister was accompanied by Barishal 2 MP Alhajj Mohammad Shah-e-Alam, Banaripara Upazila Chairman Mohammad Golam Faruk, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Pranati Biswas, and local Juba League joint convener Alhajj Mahmudul Haque Khan Mamun, among others who were present, read the statement.
