Some issues remain unresolved despite progress in 2nd round of US tariff talks: Press Minister Mortoza
Dates for the next round are likely to be finalised soon, he says

Several issues remain unresolved following the second round of trade talks between Bangladesh and the United States, despite progress on multiple fronts, Golam Mortoza, press minister at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington DC, said today (12 July).
In a post on his Facebook page, Mortoza wrote, "It was mutually agreed that internal inter-ministerial discussions would be necessary within each government before the next phase of bilateral negotiations. These future discussions are expected to take place both virtually and in person."
Dates for the next round are likely to be finalised soon, he added.
On the third and final day of discussions yesterday, both sides reached agreement on several more points. However, Mortoza noted that some matters still require further deliberation.
"Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin and National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman remain optimistic that a positive outcome can be reached within the expected timeline. However, no definitive statements can be made before a formal agreement is finalised," he said.
Bashir Uddin, along with the secretary and additional secretary, are scheduled to return to Dhaka today, Mortaza said, adding that they are expected to revisit Washington if further discussions become necessary.
