Shopkeeper arrested for attempted rape of 12-year-old in Cumilla
Following a case filed by the girl's father, police nabbed Delwar from Kalasona Bazar yesterday (24 May).
Police have arrested a shopkeeper in Cumilla's Daudkandi over allegations of attempting to rape a 12-year-old girl in North Bainagar village on 18 May.
The suspect, 43-year-old Delwar Hossain, was sent to jail by a court today (25 May).
Confirming the matter, Daudkandi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md A Bari said they are awaiting a medical report for further investigation.

According to police, the girl had visited Delwar's grocery shop to buy chips when he allegedly pulled her inside, closed the shutters and attempted to assault her.
Local residents rescued the girl after hearing her screams, while the suspect fled the scene.
The victim was admitted to the One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) at Cumilla Medical College Hospital on 23 May.
