Sherbet vendor stabbed at site of journalist Tuhin’s killing in Gazipur; one detained
The injured vendor, identified as Saddam Hossain, 30, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Police detained a man for stabbing a sherbet vendor this afternoon (14 August) at Gazipur city's Chandna Chowrasta intersection — the same location where journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin was hacked to death on 7 August.
The injured vendor, identified as Saddam Hossain, 30, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Bason Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Shahin Khan told The Business Standard that the suspect, identified as Delowar Hossain, was detained by local residents immediately after the attack and handed over to police.
"Legal proceedings are underway," the OC added.
According to witnesses and police sources, both Saddam Hossain and Delowar Hossain sell sherbet in front of the Mosque Market in Chandna Chowrasta.
This afternoon, a dispute broke out between the two, reportedly stemming from previous enmity. At one point, Delowar allegedly attacked Saddam with a knife, striking his back and hand.
Locals rushed the injured man to the hospital.
