Security heightened around Baitul Mukarram as Islamist orgs call protests against Gaza attacks
Several organisations including Khilafat Majlis and Hefazat-e-Islam are holding protests against the brutal attacks by Israel on Palestine on Gaza issue and the aggression against Muslims in India

The law enforcement agencies have implemented extensive security measures around Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and its surrounding area in the capital following news of various groups bringing out rallies after Jummah prayers in protest against the brutal attacks on Palestine.
On Friday afternoon, as worshippers arrived to offer Jummah prayers, the police conducted thorough checks at the entrance of the mosque. Members of the army were also seen stationed at the mosque's entry points.

Motijheel Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Hussain Muhammad Farabi told TBS that several organisations including Khilafat Majlis and Hefazat-e-Islam are holding protests against the brutal attacks by Israel on Palestine on Gaza issue and the aggression against Muslims in India. Their programmes are still ongoing.
To prevent any untoward incidents during the protest, security has been heightened by the law enforcement agencies.

Also, a few days ago, a banned organisation tried to hold a programme. Additional law enforcement personnel have been deployed to prevent any banned organisation from wreaking havoc, added Assistant Police Commissioner Hussain Muhammad Farabi.

A police official told TBS on condition of anonymity that additional 200 police members have been stationed at different locations of Gulshan following orders of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Also, 30-40 policemen have been place at the embassies of Indian, America and European Union.
