Saimum Parvez appointed PM’s special assistant on environment, climate affairs
Saimum Parvez has been appointed on a contractual basis for one year from the date of joining.
The government today (22 April) appointed Md Saimum Parvez as special assistant to the prime minister on environment, forests and climate change affairs, with the rank of secretary.
A notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Golam Rabbani, said the appointment was made by order of the president.
According to the notification, Saimum Parvez has been appointed on a contractual basis for one year from the date of joining. The terms require him to relinquish any professional, business or employment ties with government, semi-government or private entities.
Saimum Parvez currently serves as a special assistant to the foreign affairs advisory committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairman and is a member of the party's Central Election Steering Committee.
He is also leading the party's think tank and content generation team and was previously involved in the BNP's election manifesto preparation committee.
In addition, he has been working as a technical expert for the government's initiative to plant 25 crore trees over five years.
