Rucsu polls: 42 win unopposed in hall unions

A total of 42 candidates have been elected uncontested to various posts in the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (Rucsu) election for hall unions, Chief Election Commissioner Prof F Nazrul Islam confirmed today (15 September).
He said that as no rival candidates contested those posts, the nominees were declared elected without a vote. Of these, four are from a men's hall and the rest are from women's halls. In addition, three hall council posts remain vacant due to the absence of candidates.
Those elected uncontested include six from Rokeya Hall, six from Khaleda Zia Hall, six from Rahamatunnesa Hall, one from Mannujan Hall, three from Tapashi Rabeya Hall, three from Bijoy-24 Hall and four from July-36 Hall.
In addition, 13 more candidates have been elected uncontested to executive member posts across the various women's halls.
