Rohingya man killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’
According to an estimate by the Human Rights Organization, 220 people were killed by law enforcement as of November this year.
A Rohingya man was killed in a reported gunfight with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila on Monday midnight.
Though the details about the deceased could not be known yet, he was identified as 'Rohingya', according to Rab sources.
Assistant superintendent of Police Shah Alam, in-charge of Rab-15 Huaikong camp in Cox's Bazar, said that based on information on yaba smuggling, a Rab team conducted a drive in the hilly area of Lathorghona.

Sensing the presence of the elite force, yaba traders opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back, triggering the gunfight.
After the gunfight, the team recovered the body from the spot.
They also recovered 10,000 pieces of yaba pills, a three-quarter, three rounds of cartridge.
