Robbers loot raw materials worth over Tk1cr from HAMKO facility in Bagerhat
They fled with 15 tonnes of aluminium bars, one tonne of copper wire, and 2.5 tonnes of electrical wire loaded onto two trucks

Robbers looted raw materials worth over Tk1 crore from a factory of HAMKO Industries Ltd in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat after tying up security personnel and workers.
The incident took place on the night of 4 July at the Engine Metal Industries factory and warehouse, a unit under Hamko Group, located in the Katakhali area of Fakirhat.
According to workers, a group of 15 to 20 masked individuals entered the factory premises around 8pm by threatening the security guard with weapons.
They tied up seven security guards and four workers before entering the warehouse.
The robbers reportedly stayed at the site for nearly eight hours. Around 4am, they fled the scene with 15 tonnes of aluminium bars, one tonne of copper wire, and 2.5 tonnes of electrical wire loaded onto two trucks. The stolen materials were stored as raw materials for production.
Md Siddikur Rahman, general manager (operations) of Engine Metal Industries, said, "The robbers entered the premises by intimidating our guards. They looted materials worth about Tk1.02 crore. We demand that those responsible be brought to justice."
Fakirhat Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdur Razzak Mir said, "After being informed, a police team, including Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Rabiul Islam Shamim, visited the scene. The robbers took various goods after threatening the guards and workers with weapons."
He added that police have launched an operation to identify and arrest those involved. "Legal action will be taken once a case is filed," he said.
