Road crash again in Lohagara: 2 microbuses plunge into ditch, 7 injured

At least seven people were injured when two microbuses lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch in Chunati Jangalia area of Lohagara, on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway, in Chattogram early today (1 April).
This accident followed a deadly collision between two buses in the same area yesterday morning, the Eid Day (31 March), killing five people and injuring 12 others.
According to police, the two microbuses were traveling from Dhaka and Cumilla towards Cox's Bazar when they lost control at a curve near the Jangalia Majar. The vehicles veered off the road and fell into the ditch, a project site belonging to Mostafa Group, at around 2:45am.
The injured passengers were identified as Minar Sharmin, 42, Mehek Islam, 16, Fariha Siddiq, 22, Nurjahan, 47, Fatema, 32, Arafat, 6, and Noman, 20.
Confirming the incident, Dohazari Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shubho Ranjan Chakma said authorities responded swiftly, rescuing the injured and transporting them to the hospital.
Police have also recovered the vehicles and taken them into custody for further investigation.
