Remove overhead cable or your gas and electricity connection will be cut off
To find a way out of overhead cables from different parts of Dhaka, the state minister ordered concerned organisations to submit a report within 15 days
The power supply is being interrupted because of disorganised cables of different organisations, including the ones of cable operators and internet service providers (ISPs), said the State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid.
After an inter-ministerial meeting on the cable operators, ISPs and telephone line service providers at Biddyut Bhaban in Dhaka, Nasrul made the commented on Thursday.
To find a way out of overhead cables from different parts of Dhaka, the state minister ordered the stakeholders to submit a report within 15 days.

A meeting participant told The Business Standard that Nasrul also warned that the gas and electricity connection of the ISPs will be "cut off if they do not take remove their, overhead, disorganised cables."
Among others, Senior Secretary of ICT Division, N M Zeaul Alam and Director General of Power Cell, Mohammad Hossain were present at that time.
Nasrul said: "We find that power interruption in an area happens, in many cases, due to different organisations' disorganised cables. Such interruptions cause a loss of Tk16,000 as 4,000-megawatt electricity remains unused during this time."
Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd will start a project next year to remove all the overhead cables from Dhanmondi, he elaborated.
Nasrul said that he wants an integrated approach to provide all the services from a single source. "It will reduce the cost of the government and people's suffering," he hoped.
Representatives of the Local Government Department, Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Ltd and Ministry of Home Affairs were also there.
"Because of your disorganised cables, power distribution companies cannot repair their transformers properly," Nasrul told the cable operators and ISPs.
"I have been requesting you for more than four years. If you don't listen to me now, I will cut off the gas and electricity supply at your home, office and even at your owners' office. I will cut off all sorts of connections," said the source, citing Nasrul.
