Religious affairs adviser calls for unity for welfare of muslim ummah

Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain today (28 December) urged all to forget all differences and unite for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
"What we need most at this moment is unity – unity among Muslims and unity among the ethnic groups of Bangladesh," he was speaking as the chief guest at a reunion programme at the Hashemia Kamil Madrasa ground in Cox's Bazar.
Nearly a thousand people were martyred during the revolution and many survivors are living in misery due to their injuries, with some left disabled, he said.

"This revolution cannot be allowed to fail," he added.
Referring to the suffering of the injured, Khalid said, "If we think our movement and revolution are over, we would be wrong. There is still much work to be done. If necessary we will take to the field again."
He urged all to raise their voices for the welfare of the country and its people.
The adviser also mentioned that since the government took office, there have been continuous subversive activities and efforts to obstruct its progress.
He said the government will continue to move forward overcoming all challenges.
The programme was chaired by Maulana Nazrul Islam, convener of Hashemian 2024.
Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan, assistant secretary general of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, and Superintendent of Police Muhammad Rahmat Ullah, also spoke.
