Rail link with Sylhet snapped following train engine failure in Habiganj
The incident occurred around 1:20pm when the Sylhet-bound Paharika Express, which departed from Chattogram, came to a halt near the Shaistaganj Railway Station's outer signal

The rail communication between Sylhet and the rest of the country has been suspended after the engine of a train broke down in Habiganj this afternoon (11 June).
"The incident occurred around 1:20pm when the Sylhet-bound Paharika Express, which departed from Chattogram, came to a halt near the Shaistaganj Railway Station's outer signal," Station Master Liton Chandra Dey told The Business Standard.
He said the train left Noapara Station at 12:53pm and was scheduled to reach Shaistaganj at 1:25pm. "However, due to engine failure, it stopped just outside the station."
"As a result of the breakdown, train services to and from Sylhet have come to a standstill. Railway engineers are currently working on repairing the engine," the station master added.
