In a move to address the ongoing backlog and delays in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination process, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced a comprehensive roadmap for 2025.

As part of this initiative, final results for three BCS exams — 44th, 45th, and 48th — will be published within the year.

In a statement issued today (3 June), the commission said the final results of the 44th BCS will be published on 30 June, 48th BCS (Special) on 22 September and 45th BCS on 10 December.

To facilitate this schedule, the written results of the 45th BCS will be published on 19 June, followed by the announcement of the viva voce schedule. For candidates who face overlapping schedules between the 45th BCS viva and the 46th BCS written exam or the 47th BCS preliminary exam, the commission has decided to reschedule the 45th BCS oral exam to either a month before or after the conflicting exam.

Given the ongoing shortage of government doctors, the 48th BCS (Special) is receiving top priority, according to BPSC. The gazette for this special BCS was published on 27 May, and the official circular was issued on 29 May. The MCQ-type exam for the 48th BCS (Special) will be held on 18 July, with the results announced on 21 July.

Furthermore, the 47th BCS preliminary exam is scheduled for 19 September, with the written exam starting on 27 November.

The commission noted that preliminary exams for regular BCS will be held two months after the announcement of the circular, and the written exam will take place two months after the publication of preliminary results. While these dates may change due to unavoidable circumstances, the commission said it will make every effort to follow the schedule.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the BPSC announced the suspension of the submission of preferences for non-cadre positions by candidates who passed the written exam for the 44th BCS.
