Portraying CA Yunus as a demon in India is indecent, condemnable: Religious affairs adviser

Presenting the Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, in a distorted form as a demon at a Durga Puja pavilion in India is indecent and condemnable, commented Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain.
He made the remark yesterday while responding to journalists' questions after a seminar titled "Role of madrasa students in nation-building" at Kashait Islamiya Dakhil Madrasa in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila.
The adviser said, "Political differences or debates among people may exist. But portraying the head of government of one country in another country in a distorted demon form is highly indecent and disrespectful. We condemn this. It undermines respect between people."
He added, "In the country, Hindus are celebrating their biggest religious festival, Durga Puja, with great enthusiasm and religious fervour. So far, no untoward incident has been reported. The government has taken maximum security measures centring the festival."
The seminar was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Didar-ul Alam, with Islamic University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Naqeeb Mohammad Nasrullah, Kashait Islamiya Dakhil Madrasa president Mohammad Amir Hamza Bhuiyan, and district Jamaat-e-Islami chief Mobarak Hossain as special guests.
