Polls schedule today: EC orders removal of all campaign materials within 48 hours of announcing date
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin will announce the polls schedule in a televised address to the nation at 6pm today.
Ahead of the National polls schedule announcement today (11 December), the Election Commission (EC) has requested all prospective candidates to remove existing election campaign materials from their constituencies within 48 hours of the announcement of the date.
A letter regarding this directive was issued to the Local Government Division yesterday (10 December).

Even before the schedule is officially announced, a letter signed by EC Deputy Secretary Md Monir Hossain noted that preparations for declaring the election and referendum schedule are underway.
"To ensure fairness, the Election Commission has decided that posters, banners, wall writings, billboards, gates, arches, enclosures, pandals, lighting, and any other campaign materials or election camps belonging to potential candidates must be removed at their own cost and responsibility within 48 hours of the schedule announcement," the letter said.
The EC has directed city corporations, municipalities, union parishads, and other local government bodies to take necessary steps to enforce the directive.
Authorities of these local institutions have also been instructed to ensure full compliance with the removal order within the stipulated time frame.
