Youth reject old political narratives, says Islami Chhatra Shibir secretary Saddam
“A certain group is trying to create divisions in the nation by reviving some old political narratives. However, the youth have rejected these divisive narratives,” he said
Nurul Islam Saddam, central secretary general of Islami Chhatra Shibir, has said that the country's young generation is rejecting divisive political narratives rooted in the past.
Speaking as the chief guest at a bicycle rally organised at Dhaka College on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of victory, he said, "A certain group is trying to create divisions in the nation by reviving some old political narratives. However, the youth have rejected these divisive narratives."
He further said that in post-independence Bangladesh, the establishment of Baksal by curtailing freedom of expression had led to famine and political instability, pushing the country into a deep crisis.
"We want to continue our struggle to build a new Bangladesh through corruption-free, patriotic leadership and to establish equality, human dignity and social justice as enshrined in the Proclamation of Independence," the Shibir secretary added.
The bicycle rally began at 7:45am from the Central Shaheed Minar premises of Dhaka College and paraded around the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban area before concluding at the same venue. Around 500 students took part in the rally.
