Various political parties are targeting BNP: Gayeshwar alleges
“BNP is not crazy for power,” Gayeshwar said, adding, “BNP is desperate to restore democracy.”

Various political parties are now targeting the BNP, despite the party not yet being in power, the party's Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has said.
"Politics requires responsibility. The BNP hasn't come to power yet, but seeing the way other parties are going after us, it seems like BNP is the one poised to take power," he said.
Gayeshwar made these remarks while speaking the chief guest at a cultural programme held at the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital this afternoon (11 July).
"They are uniting just to prevent the BNP from assuming office. Therefore, I hope a free and fair election will be held. If CA Yunus conducts a fair election, no one will be able to stop it—people will resist any obstacles. Those who don't want BNP to come to power should go to the Shaheed Minar tomorrow and take an oath," Gayeshwar said.
"BNP is not crazy for power," Gayeshwar said, adding, "BNP is desperate to restore democracy."
Addressing other political parties, he added, "Form a united alliance and field 300 candidates across 300 constituencies. The BNP will also field 300 candidates independently. Let there be a real fight. After the results, count your votes and see if you can even save your deposits."
Speaking to the leaders of the Students Against Discrimination (SAD), he further said, "Just as we did not discriminate in the movement, those who are now wearing the garlands of victory — do not create new discrimination. Your actions are already giving rise to a new form of inequality in society."
