Upcoming parliament will reflect people's aspirations: Zonayed Saki
“It not only as a national parliamentary election but also as an election for a constitutional reform council. The parliament will reform the constitution based on the July National Charter, which will guide the governance of Bangladesh,” Zonayed Saki told journalists.
The upcoming parliament will be one that reflects the aspirations of the people, Zonayed Saki, chief coordinator of Ganosamhati Andolon, an ally of BNP, said today (3 January).
"It not only as a national parliamentary election but also as an election for a constitutional reform council. The parliament will reform the constitution based on the July National Charter, which will guide the governance of Bangladesh," he told journalists.
He made the remarks after Saki's nomination for Brahmanbaria-6 (Banchharampur) seat was declared valid.
District Administrator and Returning Officer Sharmin Akter Jahan made the announcement after completing scrutiny around noon.
Zonayed Saki further said, "Our main goal is to ensure everyone can vote in this important parliament, maintain a free, fair and peaceful competitive environment so that whoever gets elected through people's votes can go to parliament and establish people's rights and work for them."
According to party sources, BNP has left the Brahmanbaria-6 constituency for Zonayed Saki.
