Tarique Rahman is the future prime minister of Bangladesh: Fakhrul
Addressing the doctors, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Your role is significant. On one hand, you are serving the people. On the other hand, you will build the country’s future. You will assist political figures in formulating health policies.”

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the party's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, is going to be the country's future prime minister.
He made the remarks today (9 August) at the national conference of the Doctors' Association of Bangladesh (DAB) in Kakrail, Dhaka.
Addressing the doctors, Mirza Fakhrul said, "Your role is significant. On one hand, you are serving the people. On the other hand, you will build the country's future. You will assist political figures in formulating health policies."
Mirza Fakhrul said the country needs not only a democratic system and voting rights but also the assurance of all fundamental rights, including health and food.
On the state of medical services, he said, "The country's doctors are the best in the subcontinent; the problem lies in the system. The culture of mutual accounting has destroyed us."
He added that the 31-point proposal put forward by Tarique Rahman has the potential to bring about significant change in the country's health sector and other areas.
"Our duty is not only to ensure voting rights but also all fundamental rights, including health," he said.
Notably, in February, BNP outlined a healthcare proposal, based on the party's 31-point structural reform agenda, with short-term (1-3 years), medium-term (1-5 years), and long-term strategies for the sector.
