Tarique Rahman holds private meeting with US envoy in London

BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman held a private meeting with the Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, Chargé d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Dhaka, in London during the second week of July.
Party's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter to The Business Standard today (6 August).
Kabir said, "The US envoy paid a courtesy call on Tarique. This is a routine diplomatic engagement. Diplomats and MPs from various countries regularly meet with our acting chairman. Naturally, there was discussion about BNP's vision for the country."
He added, "While many such meetings are not publicly disclosed, they are part of Tarique Rahman's broader international engagement."
According to party sources, the closed-door meeting focused on the BNP's plans for the next general election and the party's vision for forming the next government. Key topics included the party's roadmap for elections, governance strategies, and the structure of a potential BNP-led administration if they win the next polls.
