Speaking beyond consensus will deepen political, social division: Amir Khosru
A political dialogue has taken place based on consensus, which helps advance both democracy and society, says Khosru
Speaking beyond the established consensus will only increase political and social divisions in Bangladesh, BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said today (7 November).
"After long discussions, we have reached a consensus that everyone must accept. Speaking outside of that consensus will create further division in politics and society, which is not good for democracy," the BNP leader made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Engineer Abdul Khalek Auditorium at the Chattogram Press Club.
"A political dialogue has taken place based on consensus, which helps advance both democracy and society," he added.
Khosru further said, "We will continue dialogue and reach a consensus as much as possible. Whatever cannot be agreed upon should be accepted with tolerance."
Speaking on the concept of a new Bangladesh, the BNP leader said, "No government alone can build a new Bangladesh. It requires participation and accountability from all. If everyone contributes positively from their respective positions, the country will move forward."
