Shafiqur urges running Parliament on 'insaf' to ensure justice nationwide
He said the people of Bangladesh expect parliament to become the centre of all national activities.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman today (29 March) stressed the need to run the Parliament on the basis of "insaf" (justice), expressing hope that establishing justice in parliament would pave the way for ensuring justice across the country.
Speaking in the today, Shafiqur formally congratulated the deputy speaker on his election and praised his commitment to neutrality and fairness in conducting parliamentary proceedings.
He said the people of Bangladesh expect parliament to become the centre of all national activities and emphasised that the deputy speaker's chair is a very important position for upholding justice and fairness.
Shafiqur welcomed the deputy speaker's pledge to act impartially and ensure that everyone receives what they deserve, saying such a commitment reflects the spirit of insaf that the nation expects from its parliament.
He also assured full cooperation from the opposition in carrying out all reasonable and justified decisions during the deputy speaker's tenure.
He added that, as human beings, mistakes can occur, and if any such situation arises, the opposition would sincerely help correct them in a constructive manner.
Shafiqur expressed hope that if parliament is conducted on the basis of justice and fairness, it would be possible to establish justice throughout the country.
He concluded by wishing the deputy speaker good health and a long life, once again extending his congratulations before ending his speech.
