Sargis Alam declares Tk28 lakh income last year, Tk9 lakh from business
The affidavit states that he owns no house, car or luxury building
Sarjis Alam, chief organiser (north) of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has declared an annual income of Tk9 lakh from his business, in the affidavit he submitted to contest the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election from the Panchagarh-1 constituency.
His business entity, Sidrat Enterprise, is registered under Dhaka Tax Zone-6, according to the affidavit published on the Election Commission's website
However, his income tax return for the 2025-26 fiscal year shows a total income of Tk28.05 lakh. Tax records indicate that his total assets are valued at Tk33,73,628, against which he paid Tk52,500 in income tax.
The affidavit states that Sarjis owns no house, car or luxury building. He has cash in hand amounting to Tk3,11,128 and lists business as his current profession.
He also owns 16.50 decimals of agricultural land received as a donation, valued at Tk7,500 at the time of acquisition, with an estimated current market value of around Tk5 lakh. His movable assets include furniture worth Tk75,000 and electronic goods worth Tk75,000.
The affidavit further mentions that he has no bonds, savings certificates, stock market investments or personal firearms.
One case is currently pending against him and remains under investigation.
It also notes that he owns no buildings, apartments or commercial properties.
