'SAD, Shibir clashed with locals at KUET,' claims Chatradal leader Shemol

The Student Against Discrimination and Islami Chhatra Shibir have engaged in clash with locals at the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Shemol Malum, senior joint secretary of Jatiotabadi Chatradal claimed today (18 February).
On his official Facebook page today he stated, "Three days ago, Chatradal leaders were distributing membership forms near the KUET campus. In protest of this, the Student Against Discrimination and the Shibir announced a procession on the campus.
"While the procession was underway, three students, who were supporters of Chatradal, returning home from class were attacked and dragged outside the campus by the protesters."
Shemol wrote, "When locals tried to intervene, they were also attacked with bricks and stones. A clash erupted between the locals and members of Shibir and the Student Against Discrimination.
"Several students and locals were reportedly injured in the incident," he added.
He further said while Shibir and the Student Against Discrimination have committees in KUET, Chatradal does not have an official committee.
Shemol further questioned the logic behind opposing Chatradal's activities while allowing other student groups to operate on campus.
