After landslide victories in students union elections, including in Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University and Chittagong University, Shibir has won again in the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (Rucsu) polls as well.
The Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed "Combined Students' Alliance" candidates Mostakur Rahman Zahid and SM Salman Sabbir won the vice president (VP) and assistant general secretary (AGS) posts, while the "Anti-Dominance Unity" panel's candidate Salahuddin Ammar secured victory in the general secretary (GS) position.
After the vote counting ended, Chief Election Commissioner Professor F Nazrul Islam officially announced the results from the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium around 8:30am.

Mostakur Rahman Zahid, the Shibir-backed VP candidate, has won by a landslide, receiving 12,684 votes, defeating his nearest rival Sheikh Nur Uddin Abir from the Chhatra Dal-backed "United New Generation" panel, who received 3,397 votes.

After winning, Salahuddin Ammar said, "My mandate comes from the students, so I will work for them. Teachers and officials will, of course, have their space — but for me, students come first."
The AGS post was also claimed by the Shibir-backed panel's SM Salman Sabbir, who received 6,971 votes, defeating Jahin Biswas Esha of the Chhatra Dal-backed panel, who secured 5,951 votes.

Meanwhile, out of the five posts in the Senate, three were won by candidates from the Shibir-backed panel, while the remaining two went to candidates from the Anti-Dominance Unity panel.
