Reject those who serve foreign interests for power: Charmonai Pir
"We reject political temptations and remain steadfast in principle and ideals," he said.
Islami Andolon Bangladesh Ameer Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, widely known as Charmonai Pir, today (24 January) called on people to resist those who engage in violence and serve foreign interests in their pursuit of state power.
"It has been 54 years since independence. Freedom came at the cost of millions of lives. The promise was equality, human dignity, and social justice. But whoever came to power in these 54 years turned the country into a champion of corruption," he said while speaking at a rally beside the Dhakeshwari Temple in Bakshi Bazar area of the capital.
He added that political groups that served foreign interests should not be given further chances.
"We reject political temptations and remain steadfast in principle and ideals," he said.
Several senior party leaders, including Presidium members Ashraf Ali Akon and Mahbubur Rahman, Jubo Andolan Central President Atikur Rahman Mujahid, Islami Chhatra Andolan Central President Muntasir Ahmad, and Vice-President Imran Hossain Nur, were present in the rally.
