Posing as banned AL supporters, Satkhira Jamaat-Shibir men bring out procession, chant slogans against Jamaat and BNP
Amid the controversy, Debhata Upazila SAD convener was expelled following social media claims alleging his involvement in the disguised protest

A group of Jamaat-Shibir activists reportedly staged a protest march in Debhata upazila of Satkhira while posing as members of the banned Awami League.
The incident, which reportedly took place on the night of 16 July in the Chinedanga area of Sakhipur union, involved a group of individuals wearing helmets and masks who marched chanting slogans such as "Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu," "We will strip the skin off Jamaat-Shibir," and "We will strip the skin off BNP."
An unclear video of the procession quickly circulated on Facebook, prompting police investigation and widespread criticism throughout the upazila.
Maulana Oliul Islam, ameer of Debhata Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami, said on the same day the NCP activists were attacked in Gopalganj, a procession was possibly held in Sakhipur union.
"It appears that some 10-12 Jamaat-Shibir activists brought out the procession that lasted a few minutes. If concrete proof is found, appropriate action will be taken against them," he said.
Golam Kibria, officer-in-charge of Debhata Police Station, said they carried out a midnight search for the alleged marchers.
However, he said police questioned local residents but no one could confirm seeing such an event.
Amid the controversy, Mujahid Bin Firoz, convener of Debhata Upazila Students Against Discrimination (SAD), was expelled from the organisation's district committee on 23 July following social media claims alleging his involvement in the disguised protest.
Arafat Hossain, convener of the Satkhira SAD committee, said, "Mujahid Bin Firoz was expelled due to involvement in organisational misconduct. I do not know whether he was present at the march and cannot specify the allegations leading to his expulsion."
Mujahid Bin Firoz denied involvement, saying, "On the day of the march, I was in Satkhira town. The individual mistaken for me is Omar Faruk, president of Nawapara Union's Shibir activist. Due to similar physical features, confusion has been deliberately spread."
He further alleged that his expulsion was politically motivated.
