Polls can be held by December, says Andaleeve Rahman after meeting with BNP
The Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) chairman says a responsible government cannot push the country into uncertainty

There must be a concrete roadmap for the next national election and it is possible to hold the polls by December, said Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho today (27 April).
Talking to reporters after a meeting with BNP, he said, "A responsible government cannot push the country into uncertainty by saying [election will be held] between December and June."
"Major political parties have already submitted their reform proposals. The points on which there is consensus can simply be announced. As for the points where there is no consensus, there is no room for negotiation.
"If we do not agree on reforms that are beneficial to the people, the public will reject us. Without any further delay, announcing the election roadmap has now become a demand of the people," said Partho, a former MP of the ninth parliament from Bhola-1 constituency.
Partho led a BJP delegation during the meeting with BNP at the office of the latter's chairperson in Dhaka's Gulshan this afternoon.
The BNP delegation included Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, and Barkat Ullah Bulu.
The BJP delegation included Matin Saud, Kazi Mostofa Tamzid, Washiqur Rahman, Salahuddin Matin, Sohel Asif, ABM Azizul Haque, Golam Rabbani, Asadur Rahman, and Foisal Taher.
