No objection to July Declaration from BNP's perspective, says Amir Khasru
"It’s a declaration — an acknowledgement of a significant event that took place in the country in the context of recent history,” he says

BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said his party sees no issue with the "July Declaration" that was officially announced today (5 August).
In an immediate reaction to the declaration, Khasru told The Business Standard, "I don't see any difficulty with the July Declaration from BNP's perspective. It's a declaration — an acknowledgement of a significant event that took place in the country in the context of recent history."
He noted that the declaration reflects on various milestones in the nation's journey, from the Liberation War to the July uprising, and serves as recognition of those events.
"A major event has occurred in the country, and the July Declaration acknowledges that. It also includes recognition of key moments from our independence struggle to the present," the senior BNP leader said.
Khasru added, "There had been public anticipation regarding the declaration following the mass uprising, and that today's announcement had fulfilled that expectation."
Earlier in the afternoon, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus read out the July Declaration at the South Plaza of the National Parliament.
