No law against Sharia, Quran or Sunnah will be enacted in Bangladesh: Salahuddin
Salahuddin Ahmed has stated that the BNP is a political party rooted in Islamic values

Bangladesh will not enact any laws that go against the principles of Sharia, the holy Quran, or the Sunnah, BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed said today (7 August).
"We aim to expand madrasa education, but we do not want it to become a platform for any specific party's politics. No law that goes against Sharia, Islam, the Quran, or the Sunnah will be enacted in Bangladesh," he said during a press briefing following a liaison committee meeting with leaders of Bangladesh Jamiatul Mudarreseen —an organisation of madrasa teachers and staff — held in the capital's Mohakhali.
Salahuddin Ahmed stated that the BNP is a political party rooted in Islamic values.
"We are the party of the martyred President Ziaur Rahman — the party that introduced 'Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim' into the constitution and incorporated trust and faith in Almighty Allah as constitutional principles. Once again, I have taken a firm stance on this in the reform commission, and it has been upheld."
He added, "We have engaged with political, non-political, and Islamic groups alike. We visited Hathazari Madrasa, held discussions with the nayeb-e-ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, met with Charchina Pir Saheb, and spoke with Alia Madrasa scholars. Our one and only goal is to unite all parts of society and create a nation without division."
Salahuddin said, "We aim to embrace the people-centered spirit of Bangladesh and govern in a truly democratic manner. That is why we have reached across ideological lines to foster national unity. Our message is clear: we want unity, not division."
