BNP did not give 'green signal' to any nomination: Rizvi dismisses reports
Rizvi further said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has been instructing party leaders and workers to remain united and reach out to people across the country with the 31-point “charter of liberation”
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said the party has not given any "green signal" to any candidate in any constituency ahead of the upcoming national elections.
Speaking at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan headquarters in Dhaka today (23 September), Rizvi dismissed reports in newspapers, media outlets, and social media regarding alleged nomination lists as "false propaganda" designed to create confusion and unrest among party activists.
He emphasised that BNP nominations are finalised through a structured internal process.
"Among the aspirants, the one who has performed best in party activities will be nominated as a candidate. BNP nominations are given through its own organisational process, not by any so-called green signal," he said.
"The responsibility of nominating candidates for the national parliamentary elections or any election rests with the Parliamentary Board, and its decision is considered final. Therefore, I urge our leaders and activists across the country not to be misled by fabricated reports published in the media until the official announcement comes from the party's acting chairman after the election schedule is declared," he added.
Rizvi further said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has been instructing party leaders and workers to remain united and reach out to people across the country with the 31-point "charter of liberation."
Accusing some quarters of spreading misinformation, Rizvi said, "A clique has launched a secret mission to rehabilitate the banned fascist Awami League. In exchange, they are dreaming of achieving political goals by collaborating with these fallen forces."
