NCP can fulfill party registration conditions within two months: Joint convenor
The party is yet to make a formal decision on requesting the EC to extend the registration deadline

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has the capacity to fulfill the conditions of party registration within two months, the party's Joint Convenor Sarwar Tushar has said.
Speaking to The Business Standard today (9 April), he said, "Rather than extending the deadline for applying for party registration, our focus is more on legal reforms of party registration. For this, we will inform the Election Commission of our position."
He made the comment is response a question regarding reports that the party will seek extension of EC's registration deadline set to end on 20 April.
Meanwhile, NCP Senior Joint Convener Samantha Sharmin said there has been no formal decision yet regarding any request to extend the party registration deadline.
"No formal meetings or specific discussions have been held on this issue. However, the party leadership is indeed considering and discussing the matter," she said.
Tushar, also convenor of NCP's Reform Coordination Committee, said, "We will ask the Election Commission what they mean by announcing the election action plan in June-July. We want a clear explanation on this matter."
Tushar further stated that the party would be engaging in discussions with the EC, focusing on the commission's stance on the recommendations made by the Election Reform Commission concerning the Representation of the People Order (RPO) Act of 1972.
Referring to the EC's plan to include expatriates in the voting process, Tushar said, "The Election Commission has said the expatriate voting process will be in a pilot phase, but we want to ensure full voting rights for expatriates."
